MAGSIGE exhibits Equal Opportunity for All
Today, different establishments and business entities offer equal opportunities – to everybody regardless of strata, color complexion, race, gender, ethnicity, and the like to where a person belongs. But, what hurts the most is that underlies “No Discrimination, Gender Equality” and other unifying statements are the facts that many of our brothers and sisters still suffer discriminations against, are unjustly treated, and somehow rejected. Thus, such are common reasons why many of our brethren are discouraged and find themselves so low among others.
Meanwhile, during the scheduled interview of our HR Officer in our Panabo Satellite Office for the position of Payroll and Billing, last January 24, 2022, our CEO, MR. Agripino L. Torres strongly manifested and embodied the real essence of a just, and humane society by manifesting what is equal opportunity to everyone. Hence, at that very moment, MS. JOY T. ROBLEDO was hired on the spot.
Ms. Robledo is already 34-year-old. She is married for almost 8 years and has one child who is already 7 years young. Currently, she lives at Purok Pisces, Bucana, Lasang, Davao City with her family. And what makes her unique as an employee or a MAGSIGE staff is her having crab-like hands at the same time has no feet as a normal person does – a differently-abled person as many know. But despite her situation, she was able to finish her studies as a scholar at Mindanao Children’s Library Foundation, founded by a Japanese. After she graduated, the foundation was so delighted that they absorbed her to be an employee and served them for 3 years after deciding to leave for her marriage.
What makes more interesting about the story of Ms. Joy and his husband? At the age of 19, her husband needs to undergo amputation for his legs caused by bourgeois disease. And for Ms. Joy to report to the office, her husband needs to drive their tricycle with improvised gears to maneuver their vehicle.
Meanwhile, she also shared the struggles of having such situation. She even said that, “dili malikayan na naay mangbully. Wala man sad me mahimo kundi dawaton kay tinood man sad (ilang ginaingon mahitungod sa among sitwasyon). But still, she was very grateful to MAGSIGE especially to Sir Torres as she exclaimed, “Praise God kay gidawat jud ko ni Sir Ping. Nagpasalamat pud ko sa MAGSIGE nga despite sa akong situation gidawat gihapon ko ni MAGSIGE.”
She also encouraged other individuals experiencing same journey with hers saying, “Sa mga kaparehas nako, dili lang ta maulaw although naa tay deperensya.
Indeed, as Genesis 1:26-27 states, “God Himself made us in His Image and Likeness”, therefore we have nothing to be ashamed of for we are all equal. Hence, this also proves why MAGSIGE exercises a free-discrimination environment and encourages everyone to be part of it. | via Prince Maglinte
